ABS-CBN Corporation Wins $27 Million in Copyright Infringement Dispute

    On March 27, 2019, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida ordered 27 pirate website operators to pay a total of $27 million in damages to ABS-CBN Corporation for copyright infringement.

    The case began in December 2018, when Philippines-based media and entertainment company ABS-CBN Corporation alleged that the defendants infringed its intellectual property by sharing copyrighted television and movie content on their websites.
