DisputeSoft was engaged in November 2014 by the Public Employees Federation of New York in connection with a disciplinary proceeding against one of its members, who was an employee of the New York Department of Finance, for allegedly being involved in a pushing-and-shoving altercation at a meeting at work.

The employee filed a union grievance claiming that his actions were in response to being pushed and shoved himself. A security camera video captured claimant shoving, but it did not appear to capture shoving by his co-workers, which claimant alleged precipitated the altercation.

DisputeSoft video and computer forensics expert G. Hunter Jones served as a video forensics expert for claimant and the Public Employees Federation of New York. Mr. Jones examined the video and found that it had been edited, with key footage removed at the time in dispute, before being accepted into evidence. The video was ultimately excluded from evidence.

The case was decided in arbitration.
