Google Reports the Removal of Over 828 Million URLs that Infringed Copyrights in 2017

    On November 7, 2018, Google released the 2018 edition of its “How Google Fights Piracy” report.

    The report states that in 2017, Google removed over 828 million URLs and 10 million advertisements flagged for copyright infringement. Since launching a tool to allow copyright owners to request the removal of infringing content in 2011, Google has removed over 3 billion infringing URLs from its Search platform.
