On July 3, 2019, a judge in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit affirmed an arbitration award of $200,000 in “disgorgement-of-salary” damages and $1,173,318 in “head start” damages to IT solutions provider Sabre GLBL, Inc.
Sabre had sued former employee Melody Shan for breach of employment contract and trade secret misappropriation, and an arbitrator found that Shan breached her fiduciary and contractual obligations to Sabre by starting a competing company and soliciting Sabre employees and customers.
