On May 7, 2021, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas ruled on the second patent infringement dispute between Finnish video game developer Supercell and Japanese game company GREE Inc., in the matter entitled Gree Inc. v. Supercell Oy.
The judge ordered the defendants to pay $92.2 million in damages, after finding Supercell had infringed upon six GREE patents. This update follows an October 2020 ruling, in which GREE was awarded $8.5 million for infringement against five of their patents.
