On September 16, 2021, three former employees of Constructure Technologies, LLC pleaded guilty to copyright infringement allegations, in which the former employees installed unlicensed versions of Constructure’s encryption technology by using “cracking” programs that allowed them to activate copies without paying for the software.
Additionally, Constructure Technologies was charged with a felony violation due to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and agreed to pay a $60,000 fine.
