On August 27, 2021, the Cook County Circuit Court of Illinois rejected facial recognition technology company Clearview AI’s Motion to drop the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) data privacy matter In Re: Clearview Ai, Inc., Consumer Privacy Litigation.
ACLU alleges that Clearview AI had violated the Biometric Information and Privacy Act (BIPA) by not informing the organization that their biometric data was being collected.
