Court Issues Preliminary Injunction Preventing Distribution of Cheating Software

    On August 16, 2018, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting defendant David Zipperer from creating or distributing programs designed to allow players to cheat at plaintiff Take-Two Interactive’s popular video game Grand Theft Auto V while the parties litigate their software copyright infringement dispute.

    Take-Two Interactive alleges that Zipperer committed copyright infringement by creating and distributing a derivative work.
