On July 3, 2018, the U.S International Trade Commission (ITC) issued an initial determination finding that Hytera Communications infringed upon several Motorola Solutions patents related to systems and software for Digital Mobile Radio devices.
The ITC will release its final determination by November 6, 2018. Meanwhile, in response to petitions submitted by Hytera, the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) has initiated inter partes review (IPR) proceedings to re-examine the validity of two of the patents involved.
